US Endoscopy announces release of the Reach™ overtube

Mentor, Ohio - July 19, 2012 - US Endoscopy, a world leader in endoscopy device design and manufacturing, is proud to announce the release of the Reach™ overtube. The Reach™ overtube helps provide a more direct path to reach small bowel findings during enteroscopy procedures.

There are many clinical indications for an enteroscopy procedure including GI bleeding, Crohn’s disease, celiac disease, etc. Research shows that most small bowl findings can be located by using the push enteroscopy approach, but endoscope looping in the stomach is a common challenge. Current methods and devices to overcome this challenge can be expensive, time consuming, limited in availability, and require extensive training. The Reach™ overtube was designed to help facilitate a more efficient push enteroscopy procedure.

“Looping of the endoscope in the stomach prevents the endoscopist from achieving a depth that may be required to reach findings in the small bowel.” says Gulam Khan, US Endoscopy President, CEO and Co-chairman. “The Reach™ overtube is a simple, cost effective solution to minimize endoscope looping and allow the targeted area to be reached.”
